Terms and Conditions

1. Scope of Application

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern the business relationship between RealtyLegalLine and clients who use our real estate services in Canada and internationally. By requesting our services or scheduling a consultation through our website, the client accepts these conditions as binding. Deviating agreements must be made in writing and explicitly confirmed by both parties.

2. Contract Formation

Requests for our real estate services can be made through our online consultation form, email, phone, or in writing. A legally binding service contract is only formed through our written service confirmation or the scheduling of consultation appointments. For comprehensive real estate services, the client relationship begins with the written acceptance of our detailed service proposal. We reserve the right to reject service requests without stating reasons or to terminate planned services if the client does not provide the necessary cooperation. In such cases, all payments made will be refunded proportionally.

3. Scope of Services

The exact scope of our real estate services is defined in the respective service description or individual service confirmation. Our service spectrum includes:

  • Basic legal consultation (initial assessment and consultation)
  • Comprehensive real estate services package with contract processing
  • Premium legal protection package with continuous support
  • Specialized real estate matters and property transfer questions
  • Real estate planning and asset consultation
  • Professional legal representation and real estate proceedings

4. Prices and Payment Terms

All fees are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and include statutory sales tax. Payment for real estate services follows this schedule:

  • Comprehensive real estate services (CAD 250/hour): Hourly or retainer billing options
  • Premium legal protection (CAD 350/hour): Hourly, retainer, or annual billing options

Service cancellations and changes must be communicated in writing or by email. The following cancellation policies apply:

  • Basic consultations: 24-hour cancellation notice
  • Comprehensive services: 48-hour cancellation notice
  • Premium services: 72-hour cancellation notice

Service changes can be requested at any time and take effect in the next billing cycle. For retainer agreements, a 30-day cancellation notice applies before renewal.

6. Return Policy

At RealtyLegalLine, we strive for complete customer satisfaction and maintain a transparent return policy for our real estate services:

  • Service Satisfaction Guarantee: If you are not satisfied with the quality of our real estate service, please notify us within 14 days after service completion. We will review your concerns and offer additional consultation time or provide a full refund for the unused portion of your service. For comprehensive services, we offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
  • Service Cancellation: You can cancel any service with appropriate notice as described in Section 5. For hourly services, cancellation takes effect immediately. For retainer agreements, proportional refunds are available if cancelled within the first 30 days.
  • Premium Package Refunds: For Premium Legal Protection packages, we offer full refunds for unused services if you want to downgrade your service, minus already prepared legal documents. The calculation is based on the proportional hourly rate.
  • Contract Processing Refunds: If we have already prepared legal documents on your behalf, refunds will be calculated excluding the time spent on contract processing and already paid fees.
  • Emergency Consultation Refunds: Emergency consultations are not refundable once the consultation has begun, as our lawyers have specifically reserved their time for your urgent matter.

All refund requests must be submitted in writing with detailed justification. We process valid refund requests within 14 business days. Please note that access to prepared legal documents or completed legal work may affect refund eligibility.

7. Liability and Legal Accuracy

We provide our real estate services with the utmost care and in accordance with professional legal standards. Our real estate advice is based on current Canadian real estate regulations and our legal expertise. We do not assume liability for decisions made based on our advice or for legal consequences arising from changes in real estate regulations or provisions. We recommend consulting qualified real estate lawyers for specific real estate matters. Our liability is limited to intentional misconduct and gross negligence, with a maximum liability of twelve times the hourly rate paid in the last year.

8. Intellectual Property

All legal documents, consultation materials, and research created by us are copyright protected and remain our intellectual property. Clients receive a personal, non-transferable right to use these materials exclusively for their real estate purposes. Sharing with third parties, reproduction for commercial use, or republication without our express written permission is prohibited.

9. Data Protection

The protection of personal and real estate data has the highest priority for us. All data collected during service provision is used exclusively for client representation and real estate consultation, in compliance with applicable data protection regulations and lawyer-client confidentiality. Detailed information about data processing can be found in our Privacy Policy, which is an integral part of these GTC. By requesting our services, you agree to occasionally receive information about service updates and relevant real estate developments. You can unsubscribe from this communication at any time.

10. Final Provisions

Canadian law exclusively governs all service agreements. The jurisdiction for all disputes is Toronto. If individual provisions of these GTC are invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The invalid or unenforceable provision will be replaced by a valid provision that comes closest to the economic purpose of the original provision. There are no oral side agreements. Changes to these GTC must be made in writing and will be communicated to you in a timely manner.
